Plains Farm Academy

Plains Farm Academy is the heart of the Plains Farm community and offers a safe, secure and nurturing environment to learn.

School Foodbank and Greggs

Part of the Well-being team's actions, for 2022-23, was to raise funds for our own school foodbank.

We were overjoyed to receive a Community Chest grant of £1000 towards the cost of the shed and we used funds raised from our Christmas Fair to purchase storage units.

We received donations from Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrison's to stock our foodbank up and our school community donates every well-being Friday.

So far, over 50 food hampers have been donated to the Plains Farm Community.

We know that many families will struggle to make ends meet, and with the unexpected rise in the cost of living, can suddenly find themselves in very difficult circumstances.

The Hardship Fund allows Greggs Foundation to offer a helping hand to people during a moment of crisis.

Their grants are there to help people provide individual items that can make a huge difference to family life - white goods for domestic use, beds and mattresses to aid restful sleep, grocery and clothing vouchers to support the purchase of essentials.
They can also provide vouchers towards the purchase of smaller kitchen appliances and utility vouchers* to support the cost of running a home**.

*excludes British Gas.
**Please note, Energy/Utility Vouchers will only work for applicants that have prepay meters. The vouchers will not work for Direct Debit or bill paying customers.

How to apply: Contact Mrs Quill on 0191 5203109 for further information
